VidCon Europe Announces First Industry Speakers

Amsterdam, Netherlands, December 8 — VidCon Europe (vidconeurope.com) today announced its first group of industry speakers, which will focus on the changing face of branding, advertising, celebrity and video viewing.

The Industry Track will kick off with a keynote from VidCon founder Hank Green, followed by comments from CEOs of Europe’s leading online video networks, including Ashley McKenzie of Brave Bison, Paola Marinone of BuzzMyVideos, and Matthew Heiman of Diagonal View. Marketers looking to take advantage of Snapchat won’t want to miss HelloRasmus and Cailin O’Neil — two popular Snapchatters — as they explain how brands can take advantage of this powerful and quirky new platform. And when it comes to alternate forms of making money, Nikolas Schriefer of Stagelink will join a conversation on how to cash in on new media celebrity through face-to-face events, tip jars, books, memberships, and other non-traditional schemes.

In addition to a deep focus on YouTube and Snapchat, VidCon Europe will bring together some of the leading Facebook video creators including Solly Solomou, Founder and CEO of LadBible, and Illirian Krasniq, CEO/Co-Founder of MetDaan, to share how they built two of the world’s biggest Facebook video destinations. VidCon Europe will also focus on the latest online video breakthroughs, including a detailed look at how to tell great stories in VR with Andrew Hawken of Mesmerize and Jan-Phillip Mohr of Hashplay.

Finally, VidCon Europe will continue to focus on the future with a talk on how digital and traditional media can work together to build a sustainable industry, led by Nick Hayward, CEO of The Narrative, joined by Will Harris, the head of digital at Conde Nast Britain, and Ronald Horstman, Managing Director of Studio 71.

“These are just a few of the more than 50 in-depth panels, keynotes, MasterClasses, and more coming to VidCon Europe’s Industry Track in April”, said Jim Louderback, editorial director for the Industry Track. “We’re bringing together the smartest European creators, researchers, producers and media innovators to share secrets and plot the future of the online video industry. Don’t miss it!”

VidCon Europe will take place in Amsterdam, April 7-9, 2017, at the RAI Amsterdam Convention Centre. This three-day celebration in Amsterdam will feature programming exclusive to the Industry track on Friday, shifting focus to Community and Creator activities and entertainment throughout Saturday and Sunday. Tickets can be purchased now at vidconeurope.com.
